Overtown Manor is a unique Bed and Breakfast. Situated just minutes from the M4 at Swindon it couldn’t be easier to reach. Yet when you arrive at this traditional farmhouse with large gardens right on the edge of the Marlborough Downs you’ll feel you’ve really got away from it all.
Nancy Lawson and her family moved into Overtown Manor in 2009 and set about a major programme of renovations to create a relaxed but authentic feeling appropriate to the Georgian and Victorian farmhouse.
The house and farm is very special to Nancy as it’s where she grew up. She and her children are now the fourth and fifth generation of her family to live there.
Nancy grew up with local seasonal produce and has since trained and worked as a chef in London. She now makes wonderful breakfast with eggs from the neighbours hens, bread from the local bakery and fabulously yellow butter from the organic dairy in nearby Wroughton.
In addition to B&B, the stylish Drawing room and Dining Room are available for meetings and business events with plenty of home cooked seasonal food.
Wiltshire is still a very rural county. You can walk, run or cycle from here to Avebury, which is 8 miles away without passing another house, and yet we can be in Stonehenge, Salisbury, Avebury or the Cotswolds within an hour. It is a wonderful place to live and to visit
Walk around Barbury Castle to see Wiltshire’s beautiful countryside
Visit Avebury stones as the sun is coming up but not on June 21st!
Cycle 8 miles off road and not see another house or car.
