In 2013 after more than 15 years in corporate sales & marketing Kerry Gover decided to do it for herself, combining her experience and love of shopping by launching gift brand PinkBox Boutique.
‘I wanted to develop something different – a well thought out accessible range that’s still got the human touch. You don’t get good service from many high street brands so offering a personalised experience is key.’
Everything in the PinkBox Boutique range is personally chosen by Kerry. All products are better for you, the environment or the community and local sourcing is at its core. Kerry likes to use small businesses and is proud to say she knows everyone she works with, giving her exceptional insight into what she sells.
PinkBox offers artisan foods as well as other items such as candles, jewellery, fashionable scarves & bags. Local Wiltshire products include natural skincare Hive Originals and Wiltshire Chilli Farm’s sauces & chutneys with no artificial ingredients.
Available online, Kerry recently opened a shop in the Shambles in Devizes offering click & collect and has a permanent presence in The Swindon Designer Outlet. Find them in front of John Lewis and pop by to say hi.
Drews Pond in Devizes. Behind the old Green Lane Hospital site is a well maintained, woodland trail. Steeped in history and beautiful, nature rich pathways, this conservation project offers walkers and family adventurers a wonderful way to spend an hour or two exploring.
Be prepared for rain but don’t let it stop you! Devizes has so many festivals running throughout the year for all the community of all ages. My favourites being The Devizes Street Festival. Acts come from all over the world to perform here. There are tight rope walkers, comedians, juggling and many other street artists. People flood from all over Britain to visit. It’s a 2-day event. The 1st day being held on the green and the 2nd being held in and around the market place. Great for all ages. There is also an amazing food festival held in the market place with some great local bands. A nice day to relax with family or friends. The Lantern Parade is before Christmas. This is held in the Market square. Lots of people turn up with their homemade lanterns along with the street entertainers. They all walk along to the Wharf, with music playing, to pick up father Christmas and bring him back to The Bear Hotel to switch on the Christmas lights.
Caen Hill Locks is situated along the Kennet and Avon canal. It has 29 locks between Rowde and Devizes to help the narrow boats up and down the steep incline. The scenery is stunning along here with a good mixture of wildlife. Great if you’re a birdwatcher. Also great if you like cooking with an ample supply of blackberries, sloes, and elderflowers at different times of the year.
A stunning woodland walk whatever the season. This provided a therapeutic walk for patients from the old hospital which closed in 1995.
