Local Uncovered was founded by Sam Bertram who moved out to Marlborough from London with her family in 2012.

Sam’s background is in digital marketing and soon after arriving in Wiltshire, she identified a real opportunity to represent local businesses in the digital space.

"There had been other attempts to do this but they tended to be dry, impersonal listings. There is so much energy and passion in these small businesses and that simply wasn’t coming across. I like to call them "members" because together they form a rich community of skill, talent and knowledge and by working together we can achieve real leverage to promote Wiltshire as a destination".

Sam also wanted to provide a service for locals and visitors to the area who were missing out on all these great products and services right on their doorstep.

"My aim is to project the personalities and passion behind the members and help people understand and access all that’s available here in the county."

My Wiltshire

I grew up in Kenya and have always loved wide open spaces and endless skies. So, very quickly after moving out to Wiltshire, I felt that same sense of freedom.  I love the rolling hills, the far reaching views and the fascinating history.

Devil's Den

There's so much amazing history hidden in Wiltshire's valleys. Walk from Clatford to Devil's Den, the remains of a Neolithic chambered long barrow. There's rarely anyone else there and you often see deer in the surrounding fields.

Cycling on Fyfield Down

Fantastic cycling spot for beginners. We love taking our children up there for a family bike ride. There are also great views across the downs.
