For the Cathedral and its environs and an old market city
Marlborough College Summer School recommends
If it’s shopping, eating, watching a film, going to the theatre, going to the races, visiting a cathedral or a National Trust property you’re after (not necessarily on the same day!), then Salisbury is for you. This beautiful market town has everything. Just wandering around the streets with its gorgeous timbered buildings is lovely in itself!
The Swan recommends
Farmers have to deal with all kinds of issues but diversification has never looked better we think! The Old Potato Yard has our favourite café – Mipo, who serve the most delicious hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows but that’s not all! We love Planks Farm shop, the gift side of Mipo and also the Inner Yard, which sells unusual things for house and home (quite a lot of which can be found in The Swan!). The Pilates barn is popular too and we get our hanging baskets from the little plant shop there as well as a good nosy around the small antiques shop. A perfect way to spend a Saturday morning for us!
Digger & Mojo recommends
Delicious take home Real Ales and Ciders from Pewsey’s own microbrewery. Wonderful heritage beers brewed on the premises three doors down from us at Salisbury Road Business Park. Yosh’s favourite is “Vale Ale” but he’s working his way through the range. Various sizes of casks and containers are available, depending on your consumption levels (!) they even have a personalised label service – personal labels for a special occasion can be produced for bottles and containers – your own party/wedding/birthday Brew….
Tate & Darby recommends
A beautiful walk with lots of wild flowers and a field of common spotted orchids in the early summer. Kids love it because the boardwalks through the bog provide great entertainment and the Great Horsetail makes you feel like you’re in the land of dinosaurs!
