    Lucinda Bevan is a nutritional therapist & chef with a keen interest in the brain. She provides one to one consultation, advises businesses & restaurants on nutrition and can come to your home to run lively and informative nutritional cookery demonstrations with your friends. Her latest venture is 'Love Food at home' making home cooked food for people local to Marlborough. Her popular Christmas hampers are a treat - beautiful seagrass hampers filled with delicious homemade goodies. As a nutritionist, the real difference with Lucinda’s approach is that she understands the link between eating well and feeling good. “At my cooking demonstrations some people come to learn recipes that will help them with depression or anxiety whilst others may have seen ingredients in the shops in the “healthy eating” aisle, such as spelt, quinoa or buckwheat but they don’t know what to do with them. Quinoa can end up as revolting mess or wonderfully delicious depending on how it’s cooked. I show how to do it well while explaining about the ingredients and the benefits for a healthy lifestyle.” Those who've attended Lucinda's nutrition workshops or cooking demonstrations comment on how friendly and sociable those events are.   • The Wheatsheaf

    Masterchef semi-finalist Ollie Hunter and singer / songwriter wife Lauren bought The Wheatsheaf pub in Chilton Foliat in November 2015 to create a centre for food, drink, art and music. The potential to restore the historical thatched pub and its proximity to his parent’s farm Hungerford Park were all part of its appeal. ‘We serve upmarket peasant food – unpretentious but full of flavour. When you travel you remember the taste of simple local dishes long after you’ve left. We aim to emulate that with our food. We can confidently say we’re local, organic and sustainable - my parents are just down the road rearing lambs, pigs and geese, curing their own meats and growing fruit and veg. We feel incredibly lucky to source so much produce from them.’ The menu changes every two weeks and Ollie’s always looking to combine local ingredients in an imaginative way. Their unique and popular woodfired pizza works on the same principles. Local sourcing is everywhere from the ales through to artisan spirits and coffee. This is a pub with a difference. The shop upstairs has unique vintage furniture, accessories and village essentials and the private dining room seats up to 16. An art gallery and indoor cinema are in the plans and they regularly host quality live music. Ollie also offers cookery classes. ‘Every decision has been made with a lot of thought behind it. With our arts programme we want to give upcoming artists the wings to fly.’...»
