  • A Piece of Cake by Bev

Beverly Hams’ love of baking has its roots in early childhood. Her mother ran a tea room from their smallholding in Cornwall, making her own butter and ice cream, and serving baked cakes to visitors to the waterfall in the beautiful wooded valley. After forty years of teaching she retired and took the bold move to pursue her love of baking setting up A Piece of Cake by Bev. Her cakes aren’t the pretty cupcakes or fondant iced cakes but tray bakes perfect for feeding family and friends or serving at events. She uses local and organic products and everything is freshly made. Available in different sizes her most popular include chocolate ganache, lemon drizzle, coffee & walnut and a gluten free range. You can order online or by phone and if in SN9 Beverley will deliver, or post so they’re with you the next day. ‘I attend a lot of local food fairs and have had extremely positive feedback. Customers love the local and organic products, the fresh bake and the personal touch of a message with your postal order. I’m adding new flavours all the time - the other day I baked a dairy and gluten free spiced orange cake and a dairy and gluten free lemon and raspberry. At Christmas I made gluten free puddings and cakes, frangipani mince pies, spiced nuts, biscotti and brittle all in pretty little bags.’ ...»

  • The Wiltshire Liqueur Company

From a delightful cottage just inside the Wiltshire border, Tiffinie Pride and her partner Christopher have developed a distinctive collection of delicious liqueurs. Made with far less sugar than traditional liqueurs and introducing unusual fruits such as wild strawberries from France and blood oranges from Sicily, these liqueurs really allow the fruit to dominate the flavour.  Tiffinie has set out to transform the way we think about liqueurs, encouraging new experimental ideas about how to mix and cook with them. Her current favourite ideas include pouring new blood orange liqueur over crepe suzette and adding a few glugs of wild strawberry liqueur into Eton mess – to  make a “Drunken Mess!”  These liqueurs look really stylish too. The William Morris inspired labels echo the blend of the traditional with an original twist.  And at no extra cost, the labels can be personalised with a name, phrase or event; perfect for a shooting party, wedding, house warming or birthday gift.   There are plenty of inspiring recipe and cocktail ideas on the website as well as lots more information about the range of liqueurs and how to order. Order online and postage and packaging is free.   ...»
