Rugs can make a room and Tate & Darby’s traditionally designed rugs, re-worked in contemporary colours, do just that. Handmade in Morocco and India their wool and jute rugs are not only unique and affordable, but ethically produced by local communities using eco-friendly materials.
Bored with what was available in the shops, founders Henny Tate and Kirsty Darby decided to create a collection of their own. With Kirsty’s background in decorative arts, working with some of the world’s best art collections, and Henny’s experience at Graham and Greene and in interior design, their blend of skills make a winning combination.
‘We want our collection to be fun so we use bold colours like pinks, purples or blues. Clients can choose colour and edging and have hints of silver and gold weaved through. Despite many of our wool rugs having a white base they are extremely practical and easy to clean. We’re both mothers and dog owners so extremely conscious of that.’
Available in a range of sizes there are rugs for every room. Whether it’s a runner for the hall, a small rug for bathrooms or bedrooms or a larger one for kitchens, playrooms or drawing rooms there’s something to suit everyone.
‘If you want a specific colour or size just let us know. Likewise, if you’re unsure what to choose send us a room shot and we’ll help advise on the best colour and design. We’re here to help.’
Wiltshire is such a fantastic location. We love that its within easy reach of London and the West Country and yet still feels so unspoilt to live in. We often comment on how lucky we are to be able to hold a lot of our business chats and discussions whilst on beautiful dog walks together.

A beautiful walk with lots of wild flowers and a field of common spotted orchids in the early summer. Kids love it because the boardwalks through the bog provide great entertainment and the Great Horsetail makes you feel like you’re in the land of dinosaurs!
Brilliant Pizza from their Pizza Oven and fantastic live music some fridays. To top if off they have a fab Vintage shop on the first floor.
